Nothing feels quite so comforting and inviting as getting out of the cold, curling up to a roaring fire, and taking a sip of a deliciously warm beverage. With so many traditional warm beverages out there, we thought we’d share a few of our favourites with you.
Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows
This time-honoured favourite is an old standard that no list would be complete without. Whether you choose to make it with syrup, powder, or the old fashioned way of melting actual chocolate, adding marshmallows to top it all off always brings the entire concoction together and helps to create many unforgettable memories.
Apple Cider
This is yet another old favourite that has retained its popularity since the early days of colonization. Traditionally made with apples, cinnamon, and a whole lot of sugar, today you can buy it off the shelf, but the knowledge of the traditional recipe has not been lost. Many establishments still make it the same way people have been doing it for centuries, and it’s not going anywhere any time soon.
Coffee and Tea
Mentioning these two might seem a tad pedestrian, but considering their long history and cultural importance all around the world we would be remiss were we not to include these two warm beverages. Coffee is great to put some extra pep in your step, and if you have a french press available, you can just alter the amount of boiled water in order to make either an espresso or americano.
The type of tea most often drunk during the cold months is black tea, rather than your white or herbal tea. Although, as with all things we certainly invite you to let your personal preference take priority.
Get Comfy
Whichever beverage you gravitate towards, we just hope you set yourself up in a supremely relaxing and cozy situation that fills your soul and puts a smile on your face. Winter is all about tackling the outdoors while embracing the warmth of your abode. Stay strong brave people, spring is almost here!
